Adventures of Sami and Sonya Pt. 1

On Tuesday, January 19th, I took Sonya out for her first LA adventure.  And by Sonya, I mean my camera, which I named Sonya, due to the fact that she's a Sony.  I name my possessions, ok?  My car's name is Ronnie Eloise Delancey.  My guitar's name is Darcy.  Olena got me a ring for Christmas.  I named it Latifah.  It's something I do.  Moving on..

The forecast said it would be just on the verge of rain all day, which is my favorite atmosphere for taking photos, so we headed to The Bu to see what we could get.  I wasn't expecting much, just to learn a little bit more about Sonya so that I wouldn't have to keep shooting on auto.

I was blown away by the setting.  If I wasn't standing there taking the photos, aware of where I was and how I'd gotten there; if I had just seen these photos without context, I would have thought they were taken in some Nordic country somewhere.  Either that or on the set of a James Blunt music video.  I had such an eye boner all day, I hope looking at these photos gives you an eye boner too.  (All photos of me were taken by Olena on her camera, everything else taken by me on mine! Click on the photos to see them full screen!)

The next two photos are of the sand closest to the tide.  It's the effect of the waves carving little pathways, but it created this Grand Canyon effect, and I had to snap it.

This is me grabbing those shots, doin my thang.

Feeling overly satisfied with what we got, we headed home through the mountains.  The fog was so intense, though, that we had to pull over at one of the overlooks to capture it.  There was a couple in the car next to us that were having a really heated make out sesh, and we totally cock blocked them, and I'm sorry for that but not that sorry.  I'll be a cock block any day for a good photo.

See? Emergency stopping only.  Imagine the looks on that couple's faces if a cop had pulled up next to them to find the "emergency" they needed to pull over for.  Not sorry.  You're welcome, couple, for getting you out of the most embarrassing ticket of all time.

Twas a good day.  Stay tuned for more adventures with Sonya!  And let me know by liking or commenting if you dig these photos at all.  And if you're like "wow Sami's so talented and pretty and cool I wanna be the first to know when she posts a blog," first of all, stoppppp, you're making me blush.  Second of all, there is a subscribe button down below.  You should click it!  It super helps me sleep at night!  Ok that's all for today!  TTFN
