I started this website as a blog on the eve of my 24th birthday with the goal being having an outlet to showcase my photographs aside from just Instagram.  What it's turned into for me is so much more.  Now it exists as my one stop Sami shop, where all my dearest passions come together.

If you’re here because I blog, I can't promise to be consistent.  I can't promise to always deliver content that you want.  Think of me as a journalist who just quit her meaningless job at a fashion magazine and is finally being commissioned to write about what she wants.  You know the story, there's like 18 movies about it.  What I can and will promise is to be a passionate blogger.  To write about things I want to write about.  To photograph what I want to photograph, and to bring you nothing but genuine content from the deepest little nooks and crannies of my heart and soul.  

My name is Sami Matarante. My dad calls me Sami Jones.
I moved 3,000 miles away from everyone I know and love in 2014 so that I could chase my wild dreams. This silly little URL has become my online journal to document and share the beauty I see, and my reference guide to remind me who I was throughout every step of this weird journey.
