December 28th, 2015

Once every holiday season, my family and I head into the city to eat good food and take in the glory that is New York City at Christmas time. For Christmas this year I received probably the best gift I've ever received: my first professional camera!!!!!!!!!!!! So on the 28th, my parents and I went into the city and I took the opportunity to start learning the camera.  I kept it on an automatic setting so I could just take photos of my favorite backdrop in the world, but once I get more familiar with Sonya (that's my camera's name) I'm going to be playing around a lot more.

Enjoy these photos of New York City at Christmas time!

One of my favorite buildings of all time is the Flatiron building, and I've always dreamed of photographing it on a professional camera, so I got a little carried away. Like really though, the building is more photogenic than I am.

Below is a photo of my father in his office. I love it because even though he is head honcho; the boss of the investigative department of an insurance company in a beautiful building in Madison Square Park, he's still just a goofball, and if that doesn't describe my family, I don't know what does.

There's truly nothing like this city at this time of year. It may be freezing, but there's no place warmer to be.  After all the sightseeing, we went to the restaurant that serves the greatest pizza in New York: Capizzi Pizzeria.  If you're planning a trip to NYC and you DON'T go eat there, you're truly missing out.

The Artichoke Special: with mozzarella, artichokes, cherry tomatoes, basil and parmesan. DROOL.

The Eggplant Parmigiana: mozzarella, eggplant, roasted garlic, basil, and parmesan. DROOL x2.

So, with full tummies and full hearts, we got on a train back to New Jersey. Farewell, and see you soon to my favorite place on Earth.

It's also a wine bar, you HAVE to try the Chianti. GLUG GLUG GLUG GLUG
